News - SureCore Successful Runs 2017

SureCore Real-Time data proved to be extremely advantageous and instrumental to the successful core recovery in a challenging reservoir rock formation.

The technology’s value was most beneficial during the final core run were the tool information was used to restart coring and recover an additional 8.62m of extremely important core in the reservoir section of this appraisal well. The coring engineer believed the core had jammed once the ROP dropped and was ready to give the order to POOH.

The recovery of this additional core and reservoir information would not have been possible without the confirmation from the SureCore tool that the core was not jammed off and so coring was restarted successfully. Without this additional core runs would have been required on subsequent wells with the additional time and cost involved, and most importantly there would have delayed access to the important data required for reservoir analysis.
